A Secret Tradition, Shared with the World

Born in 1916, Tung Ching Chang inherited a powerful family tradition of acupuncture, kept secret for generations and passed down only within the family. His decision to share this knowledge with students outside his lineage was courageous and historic. It ensured the preservation and global transmission of a unique, highly effective acupuncture system.

A Legacy That Transformed Clinical Practice

Master Tung’s methods — minimal needles, rapid results, and clear, channel-based logic — revolutionized the way we treat patients. Personally, his system transformed the way I understand and apply acupuncture, shaping the core of my clinical work and my teaching.

We are also grateful that Master Tung asked his student, Dechen Paldan, to translate his book into English. Thanks to this initiative, his teachings reached beyond Taiwan and became accessible to practitioners worldwide.

Resting Place on Yangmingshan, Taiwan

Master Tung is buried on Yangming Mountain (Yangmingshan) in Taipei, Taiwan — a serene location overlooking the island’s natural beauty, where he taught and treated thousands. His legacy lives on in every point, every needle, and every practitioner who continues his work with respect and precision.

Keeping the Flame Alive

Fifty years later, his system continues to grow. It is studied and practiced by acupuncturists around the world — not only as a set of techniques, but as a living lineage rooted in experience, clarity, and deep clinical insight.

May his memory continue to inspire us.
