The Tradition

Master Tung’s Legacy

Master Tung Ching-Chang (1916–1975)

Master Tung Ching-Chang (1916–1975)

Master Tung Ching-Chang (1916–1975) was the keeper of a complete acupuncture tradition passed down within his family for generations. He made the decision to share this knowledge openly — to benefit his patients and to carry this tradition forward.

Unlike standard TCM, Master Tung’s approach places deep emphasis on the 5 Zang channel system — a framework largely unknown in Western acupuncture education. This, combined with unique techniques such as Dao Ma, Dong Qi, Holographic Needling, Undefined Points, and Bloodletting, produces clinical results of remarkable speed and depth.

The system also incorporates its own diagnostic approach — based on Palm Diagnosis and the direct observation of acupuncture points — offering the practitioner immediate insight into the patient’s condition before treatment begins.

Tung’s Family Acupuncture is a complete and independent acupuncture system — with its own theory, channel system, and clinical methods.

“The Tung system treats not only pain — but the full spectrum of internal medicine, using fewer needles, with greater precision.”

— Core principle of the Tung lineage
