Tung’s 72 severing (absolute) and 32 relieving points

Master Tung has two lists of points that are considered secret, although the lists can be found online. The first list has 72 points, and the second has 32 points. In both lists, we find the best points for treating various pathologies.

The 72 Tung Absolute Needles [董氏七十二绝针] Dong shi qishier jue zhen. The character [絕] Jue means cut off, extinct, disappear, completely. The points in the list are very effective because they can interrupt or completely eliminate the medical condition and the patient’s suffering. For example, 44.09 Di zhong can treat fainting (yang collapse).

32 relieving points [董氏十二解针] Dong shi shier jie zhen. The meaning of the character [解] Jie is to divide, separate, melt, exempt, eliminate, unite, release, open, explain. The 32 points are used for acute situations involving toxicity from an external source, such as food, medicine, drugs, alcohol, and bites. They are also used in situations of dizziness, fainting, and pain. For example, 22.08 Shou Jie treats needle shock, pain, and castration after acupuncture and sharp pain following a contusion. Master Tung did not reveal the full list, only 18 points.
